Clean Rivers by Kayak? Why Not! The Give Together Campaign is On!

There is no better way to strengthen our company community than by active participation in charity events. One of the most impactful initiatives introduced by our leadership is the Give Together campaign. Its primary goal is to make a meaningful difference by helping others, focusing not only on products and company growth, but also on making a positive impact.

This campaign has been running for over 20 years in Krakow, enabling our team members to support local communities by dedicating their time to contributing to the well-being of others. Another key element of the campaign involves fundraising, with the collected funds being donated to various foundations or beneficiaries.

One of Sabre’s greatest advantages as a company is that each team member can use one day per quarter to help people and organizations in need through volunteering. These four days per year offer an opportunity to impact our community positively. It is also a valuable chance for our employees, alongside their teams, to engage in meaningful activities, connect, and integrate with other Sabre colleagues.

Among the charity events we organize, those centered around clean-up activities, particularly in the mountains, garner the highest level of commitment. However, our team members are exceptionally creative; besides cleaning mountains, they have embraced the challenge of cleaning rivers while kayaking.

Some time ago, nine members of Sabre Poland embarked on a kayaking trip that combined adventure with environmental action, focusing on cleaning the Nida River. The group set off at 10:30 from Pińczów, equipped with kayaks and one SUP board, paddling down the Nida River towards Chroberz. The journey covered 11.17 kilometers and took approximately four hours.

This is one of the latest examples of engagement in the Give Together campaign. Still, there are many more ways our team members contribute to bringing help, such as renovating community spaces and volunteering at animal shelters. Fundraising campaigns also play a crucial role, with our employees raising funds for various beneficiaries through various creative initiatives, including cake sales, pool tournaments, zero-waste handicraft workshops, world cuisine events, and even programming courses.

In this year’s campaign, we successfully engaged over 600 team members who actively supported the cause by making purchases and attending the events. Their involvement fostered a positive community spirit and demonstrated the collective impact of small yet meaningful actions.

While many individuals volunteer in their free time to help others and support foundations, what sets Sabre apart is that this spirit of giving is embedded in our company’s DNA. Our team members value the opportunity to positively impact our environment and community, and our leaders support these initiatives and actively participate in them.

This shared commitment to acting in line with Sabre’s values makes us enthusiastic and motivated to seek further avenues for making an impact. Together, we are shaping a more considerate and purposeful environment — one initiative at a time.
