Travelocity Continues to Strengthen TotalTrip Dynamic Packaging Shopping Engine with Addition of Car Rentals

    SOUTHLAKE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 13, 2004--

Access to More Than 100 Top Destinations Including Las Vegas,
Hawaii, Orlando, New York City and More

The addition of car rentals to Travelocity’s TotalTrip(SM) dynamic packaging shopping engine makes booking every element of a vacation online even faster and easier with more money saving opportunities. Taking advantage of Travelocity’s industry-leading dynamic packaging technology and connectivity to the Sabre Global Distribution System, TotalTrip shoppers can now simultaneously reserve a car while booking their flight + hotel + travel extras options in one itinerary.

“The option to add a car serves to enrich travelers’ TotalTrip experiences even more,” said Bryan Saltzburg, vice president of packaging and cruises for Travelocity(R). “These additions further meet customers’ needs by saving them time and money, while allowing them to easily customize a trip that suits their individual needs.”

The reach of these added capabilities extends to more than 100 top TotalTrip domestic and international destinations, including Maui, Orlando, New York, San Francisco, and Seattle. Adding a car rental to a TotalTrip is as simple as clicking “Flight + Hotel” directly from the homepage or the vacations tab. Once customers have chosen their flight and hotel options, they are given the opportunity to book a car by selecting a rental car company and a respective car class choice.

Travelers who book a car as part of their TotalTrip flight + hotel package now through Oct. 31 will also automatically be entered to win Travelocity’s cruise sweepstakes featuring a seven-night Caribbean cruise for two courtesy of Royal Caribbean(a). The winner of the sweepstakes will be announced in November and the cruise can be redeemed in January or February 2005(a).

As always, travelers can also enjoy a wide variety of enticing travel extras such as attraction tickets for SeaWorld in Orlando, Fla., Universal Studios in Los Angeles, Ripley’s Believe It or Not in Key West, Fla. and New Orleans, ski lift tickets, tickets to Cirque de Soleil shows Zumanity and Mystere in Las Vegas, and shopping excursions in Las Vegas, Denver or Scottsdale, Ariz. to complement their TotalTrip itinerary.

TotalTrip travelers visiting international destinations can also choose from travel extras such as dinner cruises and snorkeling in destinations including the Caymans and Aruba as well as airport transportation available through suppliers including Olympus Tours in Cancun and Mexico City, Majestic Tours in Nassau, Bahamas, De Palm Tours in Aruba and Tropicana Tours in Grand Cayman.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer our customers a combination of offerings that can help them book a truly complete vacation experience with the convenience of TotalTrip’s one-stop shopping capabilities,” said Saltzburg.

(a) No purchase necessary; a person can also enter the sweepstakes for free without purchase. Void where taxed, restricted or prohibited by law. See the Travelocity Web site for the Official Rules and more details.
