New reporting capabilities also assist in managing corporate travel policy and identifying trends, including information on unticketed bookings
SOUTHLAKE, TX – June 2, 2008 – The emergence of a global community has created new business opportunities. However, it also has increased the importance of being able to quickly determine the location of employees particularly in times of natural disasters or world events, as current events again remind us.
How does a corporation quickly and easily locate travelers who might be impacted by an event somewhere in the world? And, how does the corporation also ensure that policies related to the maximum number of employees or executives on one flight are followed to avoid worst-case scenarios?
To address these questions, Sabre Travel Network today announced that corporations now can get direct access to near real- time information to allow them to easily and quickly locate employee travelers in seconds and respond quickly in the event of an emergency or travel disruption. Through Sabre’s Travel Security and Data Suite, which provides this capability, corporations can also identify potential security concerns with planned travel – such as identifying when the number of executives on one flight has been exceeded.
The Traveler Security and Data Suite is a web-based solution that provides the ability to quickly locate travelers worldwide and get detailed information such as travel reservation and personal contact information. The solution also provides the ability to query and obtain reporting for 331 days of pre-trip and three years of historical data, including ticketed and un-ticketed data. In addition, the Travel Security and Data Suite also provides a Flight Threshold Report feature that sends a notification when the number of travelers booked on one flight exceeds a corporation’s travel policy.
Sabre first launched the Travel Security and Data Suite in mid-2007 as one of the first affordable solutions for corporate travel management companies to meet a growing requirement for their corporate customers. The value of this solution was almost immediately proven to both the agencies and their corporate customers following security incidents in the United Kingdom in 2007 (see http://www.sabretravelnetwork.com/tsds/quotes.html, for examples.)
The new release now allows corporate agencies that subscribe to the solution to provide direct access to their corporate clients for immediate 24/7 access to the same information, as well as the ability to define and create their own reports.
“As a beta participant, we have seen the product from its infancy stages to what we consider a ’must have’ in our tool chest of products that should be offered both internally to our employees, branches and Associates, and externally to our clients, either corporate or leisure” said Louis Rodriguez, of Valerie Wilson Travel.
“The latest enhancements enable us to market to our corporate clients through their own URL by granting a user ID and Password. In addition, we are extremely excited about the capability of viewing Cruise and Rail reservations,” Rodriguez added. “This clearly allows us to be more proactive with our corporate and leisure customers. We’ll also continue to use the tool for all forms of natural, economic, political challenges and world events that may or may not put our customer’s security at risk.”
The new corporate access is available through an interactive, easy-to-use web application, available 24/7 via a secure link. Approved agency and corporate users can drill down from a world map to a list of travelers with detail, or use specific criteria to target the search. The detailed report includes traveler contact information and complete reservation data, and links to an employee’s itinerary for more detail.
Sidel Inc. is of the Beta users that have leveraged the new direct corporate access for a critical business need: “With over 80 field service engineers traveling throughout the world on a daily basis, when a machine goes down, I need to know immediately where my resources are located. Sabre’s Travel Security and Data Suite provides this information with just a few clicks,” said Michael A. Collins, purchasing director for Sidel.
“We recognize that a corporation’s most valuable asset is its employees,” said Greg Webb, chief marketing officer of Sabre Travel Network. “And probably a close second is making it easy to leverage available data in a way that helps the business. The Travel Security and Data Suite addresses both in a single solution – providing a way in a time of crisis to locate all employees and assess those at risk at any point across the globe to address this very important need. Our goal here is to provide a solution that addresses this challenge and make it as immediate, intuitive, and insightful as possible so corporations can quickly determine their course of action. The same solution that provides this capability also can provide some tremendous insights for the corporation and their travel management as well.”
The latest release of the Traveler Security and Data Suite provides several important new features in addition to the direct corporate access for additional reporting and international features that include:
– Increased globalization of the solution to support six languages
– Enhanced user-friendly graphical interfaces
– Addition of cruise information
– New reports that provide the ability to query near real-time data, both ticketed and un-ticketed, for information on top destinations, top origins and destinations (O&D), air bookings by status code, group opportunities, arrival and departure, and many other needs. These reports can be downloaded to either Microsoft Excel or a PDF version.
Comments from beta test users of the new release of the Travel Security and Data Suite indicate the solution has filled a gap in the marketplace:
– “Capability and quality is much greater than any other report you can run.”
– “Great tool… has everything. All your data is there.”
– “It was enlightenment. When we saw it, we knew this was it.”
These users credited the suite with providing savings on average of $300 per month – and as much as $1,200 a month, as a result of streamlined process for generating information, including less reliance on reports generated through back office systems. They also cited the value of live arrival and departure reports and the new ability to get bookings — both ticketed and unticketed.
The Travel Security and Data Suite is currently available in North America, Latin America, the United Kingdom and most European markets.
For more information about how to get access to the Travel Security and Data Suite, corporations should contact their travel management company. Additional information about the solution can be found at http://www.sabretravelnetwork.com/products/travel_agencies/travelerSecurity.html
