Phase one of launch enables electronic refunds
SOUTHLAKE,
By using this first phase of Sabre EMD Manager, Avior Airlines has moved to a paperless environment that will improve how they sell their products and services, while also provide added convenience for their passengers.
EMD is the technology mechanism that enables electronic payment for many of the services and products airlines offer including the collection of baggage fees and refunds. This first phase of enabling EMDs is with Sabre-hosted airlines. The much broader launch of merchandising capabilities via the global distribution system (GDS) will occur late this year.
We are working to help airlines sell their products and services in the most efficient and customer-friendly manner,” said Kyle Moore, vice president of Marketing for Sabre. “This first phase of the EMD roll out will help carriers with sales and services in their direct channel. We are working toward enabling EMD capabilities across all distribution channels.”
Other Sabre-hosted airlines will begin using the first phase of EMD capabilities over the coming months.
