HONOLULU & SOUTHLAKE, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–April 20, 2005–Sabre Airline Solutions, the industry leader in airline operations technology, signed an agreement to serve Hawaiian Airlines’ maintenance and engineering (M&E) needs with the Maintenix system from Mxi Technologies. The system replaces Hawaiian Airlines’ current M&E solution — the Sabre Maxi-Merlin maintenance, engineering and inventory system — and will be implemented as a hosted application through Sabre eMergo Web access, an applications service provider distribution method. The eMergo environment offers an economical way to access the comprehensive functionality of the Maintenix system and other products in the Sabre Airline Solutions portfolio, lowering the total cost of ownership for Hawaiian Airlines.
The Maintenix system will provide Hawaiian Airlines total visibility of maintenance and materials information throughout the organization. This visibility results in streamlined maintenance and inventory processes, and improved efficiency as technicians, managers, and other personnel will have access to the data they need to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively. The 12th-largest U.S.-based carrier will employ all six components of the Maintenix system, providing an advanced end-to-end maintenance and engineering solution for its fleet of 25 Boeing 717 and 767 aircraft.
“We selected the offering following a competitive bid process involving a due diligence assessment and an intensive five-day product demonstration,” said Charles R. Nardello, vice president of Maintenance and Engineering for Hawaiian Airlines. “Key factors in our decision included the modern information technology architecture and advanced technology of Maintenix system, its ability to manage all levels of maintenance, and the expertise and high level of service we have consistently received from Sabre Airline Solutions.”
In October, Hawaiian Airlines renewed and strengthened its commitment to the SabreSonic Passenger Solutions, a suite of new-generation passenger management solutions with one of the largest renewals to date. The new agreement to implement the Maintenix system strengthens the long-term, successful relationship between Sabre Airline Solutions and Hawaiian Airlines.
“Hawaiian’s selection of Mxi’s technology from Sabre Airline Solutions demonstrates a couple of major points,” said Steve Clampett, president of Airline Products and Services for Sabre Airline Solutions. “First, it reinforces the strong relationship we enjoy with Hawaiian Airlines. It also serves as a testament to the quality of our offerings and partnerships. The Maintenix system provides the kind of smart, scalable, easy-to-access and easy-to-use technology we strive to bring to our customers across their entire airline operations.”
