Congratulations on successfully completing your internship with us. So, tell us about your internship journey and the highs and lows you experienced in the last six months. My internship with Sabre has been very exciting and every day is a learning opportunity. The culture at Sabre is awesome! Here we are challenged to solve critical business problems right from day one. Also, the people here are dynamic and very helpful. With their help in various areas, I can see myself working towards being the best version of myself. My biggest success in the last six months involves automating a process which earlier took 3 hours per week to complete. Now it just takes 3 seconds! What made you choose Sabre? I chose Sabre as I was inspired by its culture. My research reflected that the culture here is very rewarding. Also, as Sabre is amongst the industry leaders in the travel and technology domain; and me being an avid traveler – this was automatically my first choice. It was my dream company. I was also influenced by the fact that Sabre is known for its transparency, flat hierarchy and great employee benefit policies. Tell us more about your team and how you feel it helps Sabre re-imagine the business of travel. I got the opportunity to work with the Sabre Hospitality Solutions group – a team that’s on the forefront of technological advancements in the hospitality space. Our team continuously strives to enhance the way people experience hospitality. I work in the DevOps team which is responsible for managing the products and releases. This offers me a broader perspective into various ways products and operations are handled in the Hospitality sector. My internship added a new dimension to the way I think as I got to know how critical each and every individual component of a product is. I also understood the connection between the work we do and the difference we make in the lives of our customer and partners by enhancing their experience and simplifying their lives with our innovation and processes. The best part of the journey was to see our code in action – allowing people to travel the world! What are you working on currently that makes you feel inspired? My ‘team’ makes me feel inspired. The passion and value which they bring every day to work is incredible! I am trying to learn from them and enjoy the work I am doing at Sabre. Have you gotten the chance to know your team both face-to-face and virtually, given that we have been working remotely for the past few months? Can you share with us some of your favorite moments and experiences from the last 6 months that brought you joy? The Intern Graduation Day Celebration at Sabre is one of my favorite moments. Mostly because it showed me a different side of my teammates as I worked with them. So, for the Intern Graduation day, interns from each BU (Business Unit) had to make a small 15 seconds video on their internship journey. I was highly skeptical on the quality of the video from our team as when we started, I couldn’t sense much enthusiasm for the task from my BU team members. However, closer to the submission, we discovered some great negotiators and decision-makers who assigned the jobs took responsibilities and structured the entire process to get the work done on time. And the video couldn’t have been made better! I felt so proud and excited to know that “Together, we can make anything happen”.
