The world of travel has been rapidly changing these last few years – fuelled by rapid technological advancements, the travel industry Renaissance. Travelling has become not only more accessible but technological advancements has made it also much easier and more immersive – from online booking to virtual reality tours. Of these, smart wearables have been a tangible move, providing travellers with personalized experiences and unprecedented convenience. According to International Data Corporation’s (IDC) India Monthly Wearable Device Tracker, India’s wearable device market grew by 2.1% year-over-year (YoY) to 25.6 million units after growing by at least double digits consecutively since 4Q17.
Smart wearables are embedded with sensors and connectivity features that allow them to interact with their environment, powered by sophisticated algorithms. These devices range from smartwatches and fitness bands to smart glasses, rings and jackets, each designed to enhance specific aspects of travel.
