The Indian hospitality market has bounced back from the Covid-19 inflicted business losses in an unimaginable fashion with annual growth exceeding 10 percent in the last couple of years and strong indications of sustained double digit growth for the coming years. While growth is a given, that growth will throw up challenges as well considering the emergence of a new generation of travellers with totally different sets of approach in their interactions with hotel brands. In the light of the unprecedented talent shortage the industry is going through, Jones feels that the only way hotels can leverage the growth is through investment in innovative technologies.

The new generation tech-savvy consumer, characterised by their adeptness with technology and mobility, expects a heightened level of engagement and personalization in their hotel experiences. They seek seamless integration of technology into their interactions, with a preference for services that are tailored to their preferences and needs, he says. Addressing these evolving consumer expectations necessitates hoteliers to leverage technology effectively to enhance customer experiences and stay competitive in the market. As a major technology provider in the travel and hospitality space globally, Jones says that Sabre has been investing heavily in creating tech solutions towards enhancing retail experience within the hospitality sector.
