Sabre and LATAM Group open pre-launch registration to access NDC by LATAM content

  • Sabre is the first GDS to offer NDC content from LATAM
  • Travel agencies can now sign up for access with Sabre to start consuming Sabre-distributed NDC content later this year

SOUTHLAKE, Texas – June 18, 2024 – Sabre Corporation (NASDAQ: SABR), a leading software and technology provider powering the global travel industry, and LATAM Airlines Group, Latin America’s largest group of airlines, have opened the pre-launch registration process for travel agencies to access NDC by LATAM content later this year via Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS). Sabre is the first GDS to bring NDC content from LATAM group to Sabre-connected agencies and travel buyers globally.

Agencies have until July 15th, 2024 to complete this process prior to activation. Details about the pre-launch registration process can be found on the LATAM NDC partner page on Sabre.com.

“We are excited to be the first GDS that will offer NDC content from LATAM Group as we are always expanding our marketplace of travel content making it easier to compare increasingly sophisticated offers and enabling an enhanced booking experience for travelers,” said Kathy Morgan, Vice President of Product Management, Distribution Experience, Sabre Travel Solutions.

Once LATAM’s NDC connection to Sabre is live, it will enable Sabre-connected agencies and travel buyers to place orders and have even richer access to the carrier’s broad range of products and offers. Travel agents will be able to shop, book, and manage LATAM’s NDC and EDIFACT offers through Sabre systems, including its Offer and Order APIs, the point-of-sale tool, Sabre Red 360, and the corporate booking tool, GetThere.

“This key milestone in our NDC journey with Sabre as our technology partner will allow us to broaden the distribution options available to the travel agency community, enabling travel agents to access NDC by LATAM content via Sabre GDS soon, adding an additional channel to the connection options currently available,” said Andreas Schek, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, LATAM Airlines Group. “Both teams have been working collaboratively and efficiently on this content integration, which will be live in the coming months.”

Sabre and LATAM group are both committed to advancing travel retailing to create more memorable experiences for travelers, and NDC is an important enabler of this vision. It provides the technology infrastructure to expand the offer-and order-based retailing from airlines to third-party travel sellers, such as travel agencies and online booking tools. By activating NDC through Sabre, travel sellers maintain their competitive edge by having convenient access to LATAM’s content.

“As more airline customers like LATAM group want to provide the best omni-channel retailing experience when shopping for and buying their products, they look for a trusted technology partner that can help them achieve this goal. Sabre’s NDC capabilities, unlike other providers, are built to scale from day one, and our team does the heavy lifting of managing this complexity so that our customers don’t have to,” added Morgan.
