As executive vice president, chief information officer (EVP, CIO) for Sabre, Joe DiFonzo leads the Company’s global engineering and operations functions for IT infrastructure, commercial services, corporate applications, cybersecurity and personal technology. He spearheads the transformation of Sabre technology, processes and tools in support of increased reliability, agility, performance and cost-effectiveness for clients around the globe.
Joe joined Sabre in 2017 as SVP, chief information officer. Before Sabre, he spent nearly three decades serving in multiple technology roles of increasing responsibility. Joe spent eight years at Syniverse in a variety of tech positions, including the roles of chief information officer and chief technology officer. Prior to that, he served nearly two decades at Convergys/Cincinnati Bell Information Systems honing his tech skills across a range of functions, including leading multiple product development teams and serving as overall product line architect.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science from the University of Central Florida. As the former technology committee chair for Academy Prep Centers for Education, Joe has a passion for investing his time and talents in volunteer initiatives focused on tech education to help students explore STEM career opportunities.
Outside of work and volunteer efforts, Joe enjoys traveling the world with his wife Kimberly, reading about and interacting with new technologies, and spending time with friends and family.
